Site Updates

Before you start screaming and throwing things at me, there is a good reason why I haven’t posted in a while.  The code that powered this site was ancient, and I couldn’t deal with it anymore. There were just too many things that needed to be changed. What you see now is the first step in a series of updates to our blog.  The first change was moving the site to WordPress, the most popular blogging software in the world currently.  I simply don’t have the time to reinvent the wheel, nor do I really want to this time around.  WordPress is easy to use, speedy, and has a great community behind it.  So that’s that.

You may also notice the look is quite a bit different.  This will change, actually.  This is a free theme that I grabbed until I get around to re-designing everything. I hope to do that in the next couple of months.

Finally, you may come across some missing images, broken links, etc…this is the next thing I hope to fix.  Moving to WordPress can be easy from other platforms, but our old one was created from scratch, by yours truly.  What this means, is I basically have to roll up my sleeves and go through verifying all images and links.  This will take some time, but I don’t want the blog to fall into obscurity, and some of the posts don’t even make sense without the accompanying images.

So those are the changes in a nutshell.  The RSS feed has also been updated to http://feeds.feedburner.com/rustyandben.  Here’s to a good new year full of great blog posts!
