Belated Birthdays!
Lou’s birthday was May 25th. We went down to the Taste of Cincinnati, twice in one weekend! We had a loverly time and ate lots of food. We discussed the new meaning of birthdays, now that she’s soon to be a mommy. It’s a big difference between a birthday and a Birth Day.
I remember my baby sister’s Birth Day. I was twelve and she so graciously has provided me with good stories forever after. Rebecca’s birthday was on June 3rd. Ben and I celebrated with Becca and her boyfriend at Carrabas. We drove home dodging tornadoes. Eep!
One other recent birthday to celebrate: my dear Christy-friend and her husband Josh welcomed their daughter Clara Anne into the world on June 2nd. Happy Birth Day teeny one.
Funny coincidence: Exactly nineteen years before Clara, I waited at Christy’s house for Becca to come. Becca was born the day after I finished 6th grade, and I had spent the night at Christy’s house, as was the tradition at the end of the school year. The next afternoon, my aunt picked me up and took me to the hospital. We made it time to watch Baby Becca being wheeled out of the delivery room. The Doctor quipped, “She’s a Fields! Look at the chin!”
And that was only the first of the stories. :)
