Showtime!!
Here is the ticket information for my next show. I am super excited for you all to come and see it! Let me know if you have any questions.
Before you start screaming and throwing things at me, there is a good reason why I haven’t posted in a while. The code that powered this site was ancient, and I couldn’t deal with it anymore. There were just too many things that needed to be changed. What you see now is the first step in a series of updates to our blog. The first change was moving the site to WordPress, the most popular blogging software in the world currently. I simply don’t have the time to reinvent the wheel, nor do I really want to this time around. WordPress is easy to use, speedy, and has a great community behind it. So that’s that…

Thanks to everyone for the warm thoughts and good wishes. We had a wonderful early-anniversary trip to Tennessee a couple of weeks ago. Ben has been working late this week, and I had rehearsal tonight, so no big plans for us. I am excited to even see him at all today!
Please mark your calendars for the weekend of November 22nd. Ben has a gig and that is our opening weekend for Our Town. We will post with more details as it gets closer.
That is all.
:-)
What a week! I think something exciting happened every day. Let’s see…
Monday: I got to see my little sister and her boyfriend for a bit. Jason, Ben and I had dinner at a fancy little Mexican place, inside a bowling alley.
Tuesday: Ben purchased his drum kit. I can’t believe he didn’t post a picture here. He really doesn’t love you anymore.
Wednesday: Ben played his drums. Lissa and I went to auditions. Lissa has accepted the assistant producer position for the winter show, The Rainmaker. I have accepted the role of “Mrs Webb,” in Our Town. I get to play a mom. :)
Thursday: Ben played his drums. I hung out with Lissa and Riley. We had lunch at the crepe place downtown. My crepe had feta cheese and olives and other assorted tasty things in it. Ask Ben about the peanut butter cup crepe. yummy.
Fri: I woke up with a kink in my neck. That night, Ben and I hung out with a few friends, doing insanely dorky things. We also ate pizza. :)
Sat: Ben had band practice. He moved the drums out of the spare room!! Lissa and I went to dinner at The Melting Pot. Riley went to grandma’s house, and her mommy had two glasses of wine. It was a good night.
Sun (today!): Ben ate kiwi fruit for the very first time! I am making cookies to take to a BBQ later this afternoon. My neck still hurts.
Whew! I told you it was a busy week. Next week looks to be a bit calmer, but the weekend will be crazy. Ben’s 10-year high school reunion is Saturday, and I have to get a new outfit and my nails done. I am taking a 4-day weekend for the occasion. It takes time to look like a trophy wife. :)
The past two Thursdays I have had the distinct pleasure of hanging out with, (ie babysitting,) three darling girls. Chloe, age 6 and Jaz, age 3, are Lissa beautiful nieces. The two sisters and Riley have been occupying that one day of the week. We run relay races and play tag; we color and play Old Maid. Riley takes naps. I wish the other two would, but alas, they are too big for naps. That will change someday after they are too old for babysitters. I hope that they are never too old for me.
I am in utter amazement that they have never known a time without Rusty Cola. How many people in my life can say that; How many people in my life can I say that about? It’s a very important responsibility that I take very seriously. I hold must constantly hold myself to the highest standard of fun. We have lots of fun.
They make me happy.
While Ben worked his tail off on an exciting freelance project (ask him; he’ll tell you all about it, ) I got to have some fun, fun, fun!
Friday evening and most of the day Saturday, I was lucky to attend a community theatre convention. Thirteen different groups from around Cincinnati brought excerpts from their shows of the past year. There was so much talent! I was able to see pieces I had never seen before and revisit shows I saw earlier in the season. I didn’t get much sleep on Friday night; it was so worth it! I have a few auditions coming up over the next few weeks, and I am so ready to go!
Today, Lissa and Riley took me to the zoo. We walked around for a few hours and had lunch. The cafeteria had veggie burgers! The Cincinnati Zoo has a platform that you can feed the giraffes off of. They sell oversized wheat thins to feed the towering animals. Lissa and I participated; Ri did not. Riley paid more attention to the people than the animals. She did seem to notice the elephants, though. I love to watch the wheels turning in her pretty head. She’s getting things figured out. Next up: world domination.
:)
Ms. Riley Stinkappotamus is 9 & half months old!
and she’s a genius: she shares.
*wiggle*
I promised pictures of everyone’s favorite baby, so here she is! This picture is from our most recent photo shoot. It only took me 60 shots to get this keeper.
I love her.
:)
The last few weeks have been rather uneventful here in the Lacy house, and that’s just the way we like it! We went to a wedding and celebrated a birthday or two. We’ve both been busy at work, though I’m not complaining, mind you. I feel so blessed that we are both working. The pets are all fine, as are the extended family members.
This may be the most completely boring post ever.
Thank goodness for silly pictures to keep you distracted.
*hugs*
So I haven’t posted in a while, but there hasn’t been a whole lot to report. In the interest of being a good little blogger, here we go…
Today was Cinco de Mayo. Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day. It is simply a holiday celebrating the unexpected victory over the French in a mid-1800’s battle. Naturally, we celebrated by going to a local Mexican restaurant – Cancun Mexico. Who can argue with $3.00 margaritas?
In related news, today was also my 1-year anniversary at Bridge Worldwide, the awesome digital agency for whom I currently work. I love my job, and we have (thankfully) not been affected nearly as much by the recession as other companies/industries. I get to work on lots of cool projects, work with lots of cool people, and learn new things every day about the industry and technology. It also doesn’t hurt that I sit right next to the pool table either ;)
That’s about it for now. Oh, and before I forget, I’m also re-reading one of my favorite books of all time. Which Rusty refuses to even try and read. Even though I know she’ll love it. That is all.
Cheers,
Ben
It only takes a birthday to get the dinner of your choice! Matt wanted Mexican food, so I whipped up some enchiladas and queso, and we made the trek to Middletown. Mom Lacy made some corn cake and cheesecake; The boys played some Wii. Everyone ate lots of food. We ended the trip with a quick computer fix and headed home before the tornadoes could catch us. Darn springtime!
In other news…. there isn’t really any other news. Work is work. Ben’s been at his job for almost a year now. I’m in another play; it goes up at the beginning of May. The pets are as crazy as ever. We had quite the snuggly winter.
I love my little Riley Ray. We are almost best buddies now. All of my secret fears that she would never love me have subsided. She likes me WAY better than Ben. He just has the weird factor going for him now. He is pretty weird. I have given up on him ever posting again. Sorry Lacy family. He doesn’t love us anymore. :(
I will not promise to post more often, as I have become addicted to Facebook. It takes up alot of time to check up on all of the people I have ever known in my entire life. I will promise to post pictures of Riley. I am also addicted to her. *hugs*
